We had this language in the last MOU and for this one expiring at the end of June 2015. It is the language that guaranteed the 2 percent increase last year. We are only asking to be treated fairly. We are the only Bargaining Unit that still has it. Without it, Management can provide increased wages to any other recognized bargaining units, management and confidential employee group, Department Heads and elected officials without including us.
Article 29.2 “Me Too” with all other employee groups: There shall be no adjustments to base wage for all classifications represented by the Union during the term of this MOU. Due to the demanding fiscal constraints facing the County of Humboldt, AFSCME and the County agree it is, at this time, in the County’s best interest and is the County’s intent to treat all County employees fairly and equitably. Therefore, the parties agree that should any other group of County employees (to include all recognized bargaining units, management and confidential employee group, Department Heads and elected officials) receive an increase to total compensation, removal of a step, or benefit package, other than a merit increase during the course of this agreement, all members of this bargaining unit would receive the same increase to be effective the same date. This language will expire June 30, 2015.
