Unions protect lazy or
incompetent workers
We defend your DUE PROCESS rights, insisting on fair treatment during disciplinary actions.  If an employee is dishonest, incompetent or unlawful, we support appropriate discipline.  We fight for  you against unfair accusations and disproportionate punishment.
The County has no money Measure Z will generate millions of dollars in revenue beyond the current revenues of the county.  The “Me Too” clause ensures that AFSCME employees are treated equally with others getting raises.
I don’t need the union because my hard work is recognized and rewarded. The Board of Supervisors singled out their employee for a 20% raise and cited her “excellence.” When was the last time they recognized you, similarly?  If you don’t demand recognition, they are content to ignore you.
I don’t want to get involved We all work to protect the public, but are often nervous about demanding that our rights/interests be recognized.  If you are uncomfortable demanding for your own interests, think about standing up for your fellow workers, your children’s needs, your natural desire to help.  We are organizing to protect those people, the ones you protect. Join us in defending them and discover what it feels like to have 1300 brothers and sisters standing up against being neglected, ignored and bullied.

  1. SIGN A MEMBERSHIP CARD AND SEND IT INTEROFFICE TO “AFSCME 1684″, OR GIVE IT TO YOUR SHOP STEWARD TODAY.
  1. WEAR GREEN ON TUESDAYS.
  1. GET INVOLVED BY ATTENDING LUNCH AND LEARNS, UNION MEETINGS, READING (OR DECORATING) YOUR BULLETIN BOARD.
